❌ Chiros do not “turn” babies… that would be… interesting to say the least.

✅ But what I CAN do is use the #webstertechique to help adjust your pelvis and sacrum.

👉🏼 Your uterus has several attachments to the pelvis and sacrum, and when they are out of alignment, it does two things:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Makes the pelvis outlet (where the baby comes out) smaller
2️⃣ Tugs on the uterus making it tighter on one side
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏼 The Webster Technique is a pregnancy specific technique that focuses on your pelvis and all the ligaments and muscles surrounding. When your pelvis is in the optimal position, baby usually follows suit.

👉🏼 If baby doesn’t get into an optimal position, it can be due to other reasons like a short umbilical cord or intrauterine restrictions.

Did you know that although osmotic laxatives like MiraLAX are considered "safe and effective," there aren't ANY long term studies showing this to be true?

In Fact, MiraLAX is not approved for long-term use in adults nor pediatric use by the FDA. Continuing research is supposed to be ongoing (one study is/was being conducted by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia or CHOP)- but it seems progress continues to be stalled.

Side effects like nausea, vomiting, irritability and other neuropsychiatric effects have been reported by thousands of parents, though, leading many to look for better alternatives.

So, what CAN you do to treat your child's constipation?
🤍 Chiropractic care
Alleviating restrictions of the lower spinal nerves (responsible for innervating the stomach, intestines, etc.) can produce a bowel movement. Our moms call it magic 🤩 and know to expect blowouts post adjustment.
🤍 Try Magnesium CITRATE (not Oxide or Glycinate)
Magnesium citrate is also an osmotic laxative, so start with a very very low dose. Work with your doctor to determine the right amount. It can be used in powder form and mixed into juice.
🤍 Belly Massage
Start at the bottom right and gently massage clockwise.

🥼 91 medical experts from around the world signed a consensus statement published in Sept 2021 linking the pain relief and fever-reducing ingredient to effects that may “increase the risks of certain neurodevelopmental, reproductive and urogenital disorders” in children.

It cites findings from 29 studies that have examined the maternal and perinatal use of acetaminophen, indicating that the drug can alter a developing fetus’s hormone system.

🧐 While the studies cited by the statement are not conclusive evidence, there is enough research to take precautionary measures.

Reframe: rest is productive, not lazy. Our bodies NEED rest to function at their best. Think of all the gifts you give your body when you rest.

Studies show that napping specifically helps:

⭐ Increase alertness

⭐ Adjust your attitude: you’ll feel less impulsive and better able to deal with frustration, since napping reduces crankiness and improves mood.

⭐ Improve memory: a nap can make it easier to recall facts learned earlier that day.

Doing a forward leaning inversion in pregnancy is a great way to promote optimal positioning for your baby!

Forward leaning inversions are a widely known @spinningbabies movement.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This technique:
✔️ creates room in the lower uterus
✔️ due to gravity, the baby can use that space to get into a more optimal position for birth
✔️ may also reduce back pain, hip pain, or tailbone pain

➡️ When performing this technique, move slow and very controlled!
